HC Deb 11 November 1954 vol 532 c145W
Mr. G. Roberts

asked the Minister of Agriculture the estimated number of full-time rabbit trappers who have been thrown out of work by the spread of myxomatosis in the county of Caernarvon and the principality of Wales, respectively; and what proposals his Department has for assisting such trappers to find alternative work.

Mr. Amory

Trapping rabbits for sale has virtually ceased in Caernarvonshire and other parts of Wales. I have no reliable information of the number of persons who were engaged full-time on trapping, but I am informed that many of them are now doing other work.
