HC Deb 09 November 1954 vol 532 c115W
69 and 70. Mr. Porter

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government (1) the measurement of brickwork, in cubic yards, used in the building of a present-day traditional three-bedroom type of house;

(2) what is the saving of brickwork, measured in cubic yards, as between a present-day three-bedroom type house and a similar type built in 1948.

Mr. Sandys

The quantity of bricks needed varies very widely, according to the extent to which substitutes are used. It is, therefore, difficult to make any reliable comparisons.
