HC Deb 09 November 1954 vol 532 c117W
72. Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Labour what steps he is taking, or proposes to take, to settle the ship-repairers' strike, which has affected the London docks for many weeks.

Mr. Watkinson

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply my right hon. and learned Friend gave to the hon. Member for Gravesend (Sir R. Acland) on Thursday last. I understand that exchanges between the parties are continuing. In the circumstances, my right hon. and learned Friend does not think any action on his part is called for.
