Mr. Peter Freemanasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance when it is his intention to announce the result of the examinations that were carried out by his Department recently into the cases of 4,500 totally disabled ex-Service men from the 1914–18 war; and, in view of the urgency of this matter, if he will make some adequate temporary alleviation of their circumstances.
§ Mr. PeakeI assume the hon. Member is referring to the representative sample of men selected for examination to provide further clinical data for the Rock Carling Committee in connection with the inquiry they are making. Pending their report I see no grounds for supposing that the circumstances of these men call for any special action on my part.
