HC Deb 03 November 1954 vol 532 c60W
Mr. Rees-Davies

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government to state the number of town planning appeals decided by the Minister month by month from 1st January, 1953, to date, and the number of appeals lodged but discontinued before hearing during the same period.

Mr. Sandys

The information asked for about appeals under the Town and Country Planning Act, 1947, are set out below. The figures for appeals withdrawn include cases where the withdrawal was made at, or following, the inquiry or hearing, and cases in which it was decided that the Minister had no jurisdiction or that no permission was required for the proposed development. No separate record is kept of such cases, but they are comparatively few.
