HC Deb 03 November 1954 vol 532 c56W
Mrs. Ford

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will now resume the payment of a grant to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for their home safety work.

Major Lloyd George

Provision will be made in next year's Estimates for the payment of a grant of £1,500 to the Society for this work. I am informing the Society that it is the intention, subject to the approval of Parliament, to make a grant of £1,500 per annum for a period of three years, in order to enable the Society to extend the scope of its work so that it can be wholly maintained by voluntary subscriptions, and that in no circumstances will the grant be renewed after the end of the three year period.
