HC Deb 03 November 1954 vol 532 c41W
6. Mr. Bence

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General what steps he proposes taking respecting the delivery of a letter, posted in London for express delivery on 19th July, 1954, but not delivered in Kirkintilloch until 9th September, 1954, causing loss to the recipient.

Mr. Gammans

As I have told the hon. Member by letter, this delay was due to a mistake at the counter, and I would again offer the hon. Member and his constituent my sincere apologies for what happened. I trust that such a mistake will not occur again.
