Dr. HillThe subsidy on milk, excluding the cost of the two welfare schemes and the attested herds scheme, is estimated at about £40 million this year. This is equivalent to ¾d. a pint on all milk. The average weekly consumption of all milk, including welfare and school milk, is about five pints per head.
