HC Deb 27 May 1954 vol 528 c44W
61. Sir W. Wakefield

asked the Minister of Labour what steps are taken to ensure that immigrants from the British Commonwealth do, in fact, register for National Service when, after two years' ordinary residence in this country, they become liable for National Service; and how many such persons were called up for National Service during 1953.

Sir W. Monckton

The question of liability under the National Service Acts is examined during the two-year period in order that registration may be effected as soon as liability is established. I regret that the information asked for in the second part of the Question is not available.
