HC Deb 26 May 1954 vol 528 cc33-4W
Captain Kerby

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware of the bad conditions in the ground-floor police canteen at New Scotland Yard and, in particular, of the evil odour which ascends from the New Scotland Yard Horticultural Society fertiliser store, located immediately below this canteen; and what action he proposes taking to rectify these conditions.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

The Horticultural Society's fertiliser store is being moved elsewhere and with it, I trust, the odour referred to by my hon. and gallant Friend. I am not aware of any other cause for complaint concerning this small but efficient and useful canteen.
