§ Mr. Iain MacleodUnder the Whitley agreement which I announced in the House on 8th April, the new salary of medical and surgical house officers is at the annual rate of £425 for the first post, £475 for the second and £525 for the third and subsequent posts. The same salary scale applies to all hospitals. The charge for residence is in all cases £125 a year.
