§ 72. Mr. Murrayasked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that Private Kenneth George Hendon, aged 19 years, of the Regimental Depot, Durham Light Infantry, Brancepeth, County Durham, volunteered for the Parachute Regiment and was refused, and that he also volunteered to join the Home Counties Regiment and was again refused; and, in view of the fact that this is not a satisfactory way of treating young men who are keen to give of their best for their country, if he will give the reason for such refusals.
