HC Deb 07 May 1954 vol 527 c46W
Mr. Collick

asked the Minister of Works if he will arrange to provide tip-up seats in such lifts as are regularly worked by disabled men within the Palace of Westminster.

Mr. Bevins

I have been considering this matter. I am informed that many disabled lift attendants find ordinary tip-up seats unsatisfactory, and I am about to try out a seat of hammock construction; this should be more adaptable and comfortable. If it proves suitable it will be used wherever practicable.
