§ Mr. Lennox-BoydIt is too early to estimate what grants will be made to individual authorities for major improvements and new construction in the current financial year. The estimated grant to Staffordshire for the maintenance and minor improvement of classified roads in 1954–55 exceeds the grant made in the previous year by 31.9 per cent., which is the highest percentage increase in the country.
