HC Deb 11 March 1954 vol 524 c176W
79. Mr. Hayman

asked the Minister of Agriculture how many times in each of the last five years applications have been made for proceedings under the Seeds Act, 1920; in how many cases prosecutions were undertaken; and how many convictions were obtained.

Mr. Nugent

No provision is made in the Seeds Act, 1920, for applications to be made for proceedings. One prosecution was taken in 1951 and one in 1952. A conviction was obtained in the first case, but the second case was dismissed.
