asked the Minister of Education how many head teachers of schools of 100 pupils and upwards are responsible for the full-time teaching of a class.

In January, 1953, 4,257 head teachers of maintained and assisted schools (other than nursery and special schools) with more than 100 pupils were in charge of a class.
