Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies why, in view of the fact that a motion for the need of tenancy legislation upon Metayer lands was passed in the Mauritius Legislative Council in 1949, the Bill prepared to meet that situation has remained in abeyance for the past five years.
