§ 43. Mr. G. M. Thomsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will, in consultation with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, arrange for the people of Malaya to be consulted regarding any international agreements on the security of South-East Asia.
§ Mr. LytteltonThe defence and external affairs of the Federation are the responsibility of Her Majesty's Government which would of course maintain close consultation with the Government of the Federation in connection with any such agreement.
