HC Deb 04 June 1954 vol 528 c127W
Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if, in order to give encouragement to those who feel they can make a useful contribution to helicopter development, he will reconsider the conditions which he imposed in giving Mr. John Murray permission for test flights of the helicopter he has built, in particular that the helicopter is to be tethered to the ground, and that in flight it shall not exceed a ceiling of 10 feet from the ground.

Mr. Profumo

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on this matter to my hon. Friend the Member for Canterbury on 2nd June. 1954. If Mr. Murray wishes later to carry out other than tethered flights, I will certainly consider his application on the advice of the Air Registration Board.
