asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has yet given further consideration to the question of problem families; and if he will set up a Departmental committee to consider the matter.

I do not contemplate the appointment of a Departmental committee at present, but the need for further inquiry is being kept under review in consultation with the other Departments concerned.
