§ Mr. Selwyn LloydThe total number evacuated is given as 6,900, including about 1,400 dependants. This total is believed to account for all major formations. There is no doubt that this represents a notable success for the authority of the United Nations and has been achieved as a result of the patient work of the committee operating under its auspices.
