Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland his present plans for further developing the technological and other facilities available to those who catch, cure, market, distribute and transport fish in and from northern Scottish fishing ports to the large consuming centres further south.
§ Mr. Henderson StewartResearch on improved methods of catching, handling and preserving fish is carried out by Government establishments and other agencies; but the application of its66W results is a matter for those engaged in the industry with the help of the White Fish Authority and the Herring Industry Board who can, where necessary, itself provide certain processing facilities.
