§ Mr. BevinsAn important section of the work of the British Shipbuilding Research Association relates to the full-scale performance of ships and their machinery in service, on measured mile trials and on the test bed. Very accurate measurements of performance are required and the Association has had to develop new apparatus for the purpose and also to improve the accuracy of existing apparatus. This work is being undertaken at Palmers Hill, Sunderland. The results are published initially in reports circulated confidentially to members.
