asked Her Majesty's Government what is the average price paid for wheat imported into the United Kingdom from Canada during the first six months of 1954; and what was the average price available including subsidies for United Kingdom grown wheat during the same period.

The average price at landed c.i.f. point, as shown by Trade and Navigation Accounts, of wheat imported into tie United Kingdom from Canada in the first six months of 1954 was 29s. 1d. per cwt. The average price paid at farm, including subsidies, for millable United Kingdom grown wheat during the same period was 33s.per cwt. The two classes of wheat are not, however, interchangeable.
