asked the Minister of Health what financial provision is made, by insurance or otherwise, to meet the contingency of actions by patients against regional boards for alleged personal injury through neglect or carelessness during their treatment; how many legal actions of this nature have been taken against hospital authorities and with what result; and what record is kept of financial or other contributions by patients out of appreciation of the service and beneficial treatment they have received.
