Harrisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is yet in a position to issue the necessary regulations under the Fire Services Act, 1947, to give effect to the recommendations of the Officers' Committee of the National Joint Council for Local Authority Fire Brigades agreed upon in July, 1953.

Maxwell FyfeThe recommendations in question form part of the consolidated Fire Service Regulations upon which I am awaiting the observations of the National Joint Council for Local Authorities' Fire Brigades. The Regulations will be laid before Parliament as soon as the Council's views have been received and considered.
