Ropnerasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation the number of fatal accidents on the roads during 1953 in the West Riding of Yorkshire in which a motor vehicle was concerned; and in how many of these accidents the drivers of motor vehicles were convicted for being under the influence of drink.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydIn the West Riding, during 1953, there were 327 fatal accidents in which a motor vehicle was concerned. Five of the drivers concerned, in the opinion of the police, were under the influence of drink, but we have no record of the number convicted.
