asked the President of the Board of Trade the annual dollar expenditure on periodicals and comic papers imported into this country from the United States of America.

Mr. Amory

The declared value of bulk imports of newspapers and periodicals from the United States in 1953 was £773,421. This figure excludes imports by post, the value of which is not known. Bulk imports of what are usually known as comics are not licensed.
