Mr. Vaneasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation which are the two bridges on the Lune-Shap road referred to on pages 6 and 9 of the Twelfth Report of the Royal Fine Art Commission for 1953; and when the work is to be put in hand.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThese references relate to one proposed bridge only over the River Lune at Newby's Dub on the boundary between Westmorland and Yorkshire. The reference to Lancashire, on page 6 of the report, is a drafting error. The bridge is on the proposed line for the Carnforth-Shap motor road, for which I hope to publish a draft scheme shortly. I cannot say when the work will be put in hand.
