§ 94. Mr. J. Harrisonasked the Minister of Agriculture what evidence he now has of the deliberate spread of myxomatosis amongst rabbits in this country; and, in view of the sufferings thereby inflicted on such animals, what immediate steps he is contemplating to stop this practice.
§ 96. Mr. Braineasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will make an order under the Diseases of Animals Act, 1950, prohibiting the deliberate spreading of myxomatosis.
§ Sir T. DugdaleI have heard and read reports that deliberate attempts are being made by some farmers to spread myxomatosis amongst wild rabbits but I have no evidence of this having been done. I am asking the Myxomatosis Advisory Committee to consider the matter when it meets later this month.
