§ The Prime MinisterThe Washington declaration reaffirms the guiding principles of the Atlantic Charter, and I have no hesitation in saying that these principles are always respected in the exercise of British policy.

Mr. Healyasked the Prime Minister whether he will attempt to apply, in relation to nations now divided against their will, the principle of unity through free and fairly conducted elections approved by the Churchill-Eisenhower communiqué in Washington; and, in particular, if he will undertake to apply this principle to Ireland.
