asked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he will give a general direction to the British Electricity Authority that church premises are no longer to be charged on the standard commercial tariff for electricity consumption.

No. The majority of the area boards have arrangements for churches based on the special nature of their use of electricity, so that churches usually pay less than if they were charged as commercial undertakings.
