§ 73. Mr. Peter Freemanasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that the report of the American Medical Association advises that tonsils and adenoids should not be removed unless absolutely necessary, particularly in view of the fact that children who had been subjected to this operation were more susceptible to attacks from infantile paralysis and other forms of disease: and whether he will instruct regional hospital boards to adopt similar measures in this country.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodI am aware of the report referred to and of the review in116W the Journal of the American Medical Association. Investigations are in progress in this country to establish whether the findings are applicable to conditions here.
