Thomasasked the Minister of Education whether she has now completed her inquiries into the circumstances under which the Cardiff Corporation entered into contract to buy land subsequently priced at £800 an acre without first knowing the price; and what decision she has reached on payment of grant on this purchase.
§ Miss HorsbrughI am informed that the Cardiff City Council propose to purchase this site at a price to be recommended by the district valuer. I can offer no observations on the proposal in advance of the submission to me by the authority of an application for approval of the purchase.
