§ Sir D. Maxwell FyfeI am aware that a number of British subjects from overseas have recently been convicted of this offence, and I shall watch the matter carefully. I must point out, however, that my hon. Friend's proposal would involve a radical and far-reaching departure from the tradition that any British subject has a right to enter this country and remain here freely.
