HC Deb 25 January 1954 vol 522 c202W
80 and 81. Mr. Erroll

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power (1) if he will give figures showing the quantity and value of sea coal salvaged annually from beaches at Horden and Black Hull during recent years;

(2) if he will give figures showing the quantity and value of sea coal salvaged annually from beaches adjacent to coalfields, during recent years.

This coal, which comes from colliery refuse dumped into the sea or from submerged out-crops, can be salvaged from beaches by anyone and no records are available of the quantities obtained or values.
