§ 59. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will take steps to arrange talks with the Governments of Great Britain, the United States of America, France and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics for the purpose of seeking agreement on the establishment of an international agency to develop and control the peaceful uses of atomic energy.
§ Mr. EdenHer Majesty's Government are in touch with the United States authorities following on President Eisenhower's recent proposals. But I am not yet in a position to make a statement about the possibilities of international discussions.
