§ Miss Hornsby-SmithThe number of original notifications of diphtheria in 1953 was 1,033 corrected to 266 confirmed cases, and in 1952, 1,431 corrected to 372. In 1935, when there was no regular provision for recording corrections, the number of cases notified was 65,084.
