§ 34. Mr. J. Hyndasked the President of the Board of Trade what proposals Her Majesty's Government have for reopening discussions with the Brazilian Government with a view to facilitating the recovery of British-Brazilian trade and the progressive clearance of existing arrears of payments.
Mr. AmoryI am not clear what sort of proposals the hon. Member has in mind. The arrears of commercial debts,14W which have been a major impediment to Anglo-Brazilian trade, will be progressively cleared under the debt agreement of October last. Confidence should now revive, and there has already been some improvement in current trade.
