§ Mr. Masonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what amount of capital has been invested in British Guiana by American interests over the last five years; and the total invested from other sources over the same period.
§ Mr. Lyttelton, pursuant to his right hon. Friend's reply [Official Report, 5th February, 1954; Vol. 523, c. 79–80], supplied the following further information.
The estimated total investments in British Guiana by United States interests and other interests during the period 1948–52 were £1 million and £10.9 million respectively. Figures for 1953 are not yet available.
