Mr. Llewellynasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will appoint a committee to investigate and report upon methods of minimising the effect of very cold weather upon houses in general and their plumbing in particular; and whether he is aware that some new council houses in Glamorgan are insufficiently protected against frost.
§ Mr. MarplesMy right hon. Friend does not think it necessary to appoint a committee, for he is advised that the recommendations in the existing housing manuals and their technical appendices would provide adequate protection if properly applied. He is aware that some new council houses in Glamorgan havebeen affected, and has asked for a report on these and on a representative cross-section of council houses generally.
