Mr. K. Robinson

asked the Minister of Health the total capital expenditure of regional boards and boards of governors in England and Wales for each year since the inception of the National Health Service, showing mental and non-mental hospitals, separately.

Annual figures showing actual capital expenditure on mental and mental deficiency hospitals are not readily available, but the total of such expenditure from 5th July, 1948, to 31st March, 1953, (including equipment supplied centrally) was:
