HC Deb 11 February 1954 vol 523 c159W
99. Mr. Coldrick

asked the Minister of Health what steps he proposes to take to relieve the overcrowding in the Bristol Mental Hospital at Stapleton.

Mr. Iain Macleod

It is hoped to start work in April on a villa providing 86 additional beds for aged female patients. In addition, relief will be provided by the early reopening of a villa which has been adapted and decorated at Barrow Gurney for some 20 female patients.
