HC Deb 10 February 1954 vol 523 cc137-8W
106. Mr. Harrison

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General what information is available as to the response by motorists and others using electrical appliances likely to cause interference to television reception to the campaign for the fitting of suppressors; and what further measures are contemplated.

Mr. Gammans

My information is that more suppressors are being fitted voluntarily on cars than previously and, therefore, the Government propose to continue their campaign on the present lines. The response to specific requests to fit suppressors on electrical appliances remains good. My noble Friend has now received reports from the committees appointed to advise him on interference from small electrical motors and refrigerators and hopes shortly to lay regulations before Parliament.
