asked the Minister of Food how much meat has been purchased by private buyers since 1952 from Argentina, Australia and New Zealand, respectively.

No carcase meat has been imported by private buyers, but in the two years 1952 and 1953 they imported 250 tons, 82,000 tons and 16,800 tons of canned and open-pack meat products from Argentina, Australia and New Zealand, respectively.
