HL Deb 09 February 1954 vol 185 c782WA
LORD WINSTER

asked Her Majesty's Government what progress is being made as regards Colonial Governments, which have not already done so, in providing by legislation that judicial process shall precede the deportation of British subjects or protected persons from the territories where they have their homes.

THE PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (THE EARL OF MUNSTER)

My right honourable friend has received replies from Colonial Governments to certain questions addressed to them, and the points involved, which are numerous and complex, are under consideration. He hopes to be able to make a further statement on the matter before long.

House adjourned at twenty minutes past five o'clock.
