§ Sir T. DugdaleNo chemicals are used by my Department for prolonging the storage life of potatoes and onions. The Agricultural Research Council are carrying out experiments into the use of maleic hydrazide to inhibit the sprouting of potatoes, but I cannot say when results will be available.
