Mr. Chetwyndasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will introduce legislation to enable contributions towards the cost of land drainage works under taken by a river board on its main river to be obtained from owners and occupiers of land which derive benefit or avoid danger as a result of such works.

Mr. Slaterasked the Minister of Agriculture what consideration he has given to the recommendations of the Heneage Report on Land Drainage; and what are his proposals for introducing legislation to enable contributions towards the cost of land drainage works to be undertaken by a river board on its main river.
