HC Deb 03 February 1954 vol 523 c35W
63. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will make a further statement in respect of the situation in Korea, and on the convening of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organisation for the purpose of discussing immediate Korean problems.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

The Indian Government's proposal for a further meeting of the Assembly on 9th February to discuss Korea did not receive the requisite support. Her Majesty's Government considered that in view of current developments it would be premature to reconvene the Assembly on 9th February to discuss the Korean question.

The discussions at Panmunjom are the subject of another Question on today's Order Paper.
