I give below figures of imports and exports of horses (including ponies) during 1952 showing the value of this trade with the dollar area and with other non-sterling countries. The figures include horses imported or exported only temporarily, for example, for racing, and do not, therefore, give any reliable indication of payments made for imports or earnings from exports.
